I cant seem to find a depression support group that I can go to. Please help
I created it last year before I got suspended to help out those on here that are depressed or dealing with troubled times. I have found that some people come on here to escape but when they leave their computers they still suffer. I'm not the only moderator either and I appointed some women moderators to help out as well. Please feel free to join. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pollsandsurveydepressionsupport/ P.S. - Due to certain ladies request for me to come back and do more sexist and chauvinistic questions I decided to come back. You know who you girls are and you know I love you very much. ;) xoxo Sandstorm222
Hi! so I found a support group for depression in my area which I''d love to go to because I've been battling depression for 3 years. I'vve emailed the leader and everything. I'm excited except that I'm a teen and they are mostly adults. what should I expect? I dont want to seem immature and that my problems are stupid compared to theirs. anyone been to a meeting? help! lol
I am on medication and suffer from chronic, long term, clinical depression. I live in a small town and feel I need a suitable support group, particulaly during acute episodes. Sometimes Lifeline is not an option, and I thought that maybe a reputable support group may help me. There are so many sites on the net I don`t know where to start, or who to trust.
I have recovered from depression but I wanted to know whether there were any support groups, national or local (I live in Madison, WI), or even just blogs which are focused on you staying positive and not relapsing. I'd prefer this to something where the members talk about how sad they are, because I'm not feeling sad anymore and that would probably just bum me out.

My sister has been looking for support groups for her depression. She prefers it has other teens, but it doesn't matter if it's all adults. She lives in Lawrenceville, Grayson, Loganville, Snellville area. Anyone know of anything?
Is there a depression support group in New delhi, India. Will be obliged if someone can guide me. Thanks
I would like to know specially about groups in Kolkata and Chennai. Also, can anyone suggest me a good psychotherapist in Kolkata, Chennai. Thanks!
I'm in therapy, on medications and I'm actually starting to feel better and want to socialize more often. I have a social phobia so I have a difficult time making friends anyways. Besides, I don't have any friends that have personally dealt with a mental illness. Because of this, I don't and never have discussed anything about my mental conditions with them. I'm thinking it might be nice to have some friends who understand what you're going through and that depression is indeed not a desperate plea for attention. I found a support group nearby and I'm considering going. The one thing I'm concerned about is the age of the people there. I'd like to offer support and get support from anyone no matter what age. But I'm also hoping to get some friends in which I can relate. I'm in my 20's so I'd like to find some people of similar age. I'm sure a 50 year old would rather not befriend someone in their 20's. Interactions within the support group would be fine however. I have no idea what age of people come to these. Do you think I should give one of these groups a shot? Do you have any experience of knowledge of these groups yourself?
I would like to find a depression support group in my area. How do I go about finding one? Google searches are turning up nothing. I live in New York (Manhattan to be exact). So I guess how do you find a support group in a major city.
...that are not connected to the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba? I really need a support group for bipolar disorder, but I do not like the way the MDAM conducts their support groups, and most of their groups occur during the day when I am working.
